A conference with the hot topic “Smart Cities – Opportunities and Challenges” was taking place as part of the initiative Knowledge@CatólicaLisbon on the 26th of September at Católica. The Smart City Innovation Lab organised the mini conference, which was moderated by its founder, René Bohnsack. The program started with a welcome note by the Dean of Católica, Nuno Fernandes, followed by a keynote and introduction of the panel as well as a Smart City Quiz, in which everyone could participate via smartphone answering questions on smart cities.
Then the floor was opened to the panel, which was composed of four speakers: Diogo Nuno Santos, Associate Partner at Deloitte, Christina M. Bidmon, Researcher at Aarhus University, José Teixeira, Founder of MediaPrimer and Carlos Luiz, Business Development Director at Municípia. All four speakers had exciting projects to present: the Smart City Cascais, Mobility as a Service (MaaS) in the business region Aarhus, the work of MediaPrimer and GeoSmartCity.
The many questions of the participants as well as their large number showed the great interest in the topic and projects. The Smart City Innovation Lab thanks all participants and speakers for their contributions and is happy about the great interest in a sustainable future of our cities.
