Last week, Dr. René Bohnsack was invited to talk about new business models in smart cities at the yearly CBRE Portugal Outlook event.

He presented the research of the Smart City Innovation Lab, including the first AI-powered business model analysis concept. This imitation learning algorithm that is able to recognize a business model from an English text, benchmark firms in their ecosystem, and suggest new business models. In his keynote speech, René presented the trends that the algorithm observed in the real estate industry, namely increasing digitalization, customer-centricity, and a shift towards sustainability.
